The Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City is creating a handsome new student center, as the result of a substantial gift from the Feil family of New York. To commemorate the establishment of the new center, I was asked to paint the portrait of Mr. Jeffrey Feil, to hang at the entrance to the new facility. Jeffrey Feil proved to be a genial, friendly, and charming gentleman, who posed for me in the reception hall of his Manhattan business headquarters, standing before a large abstract canvas, one of several striking modern works that decorate the offices.

The Feil Organization is one of New York City's oldest family-owned real estate companies. The company owns, develops, and manages retail, commercial, industrial, residential, and undeveloped properties. It owns and operates over 26 million square feet of office space. Its New York City properties include the Fred F. French Building at 551 Fifth Avenue at East 45th Street, 4 Park Avenue at East 34th Street, and 570 Lexington Avenue at East 51st Street.
