very New Yorker quickly learns that a retreat in the country is really a necessity, and we learned this lesson early in our New York career. First, we found a home and studio in rural Washington, Connecticut, which served our weekend and summer needs for seven years. But later, we discovered the lovely Fairfield Co unty town of Ridgefield - as scenic as Washington but much closer to the city. When we added this studio structure in 1998, we used the identical measurements as the big studio in New York at 130 West 57th Street.
