ur
work with The Portrait Club was so intensive that we gave up
Carnegie Hall Studio 1011 to concentrate on the varied activities
at the club/school/studio complex. Almost at once we missed
the romance and community of the Carnegie studios, and watched
eagerly for an opportunity to return, which we did in 1978.
Studio 1010 was the first such opportunity. The new space was
right next door to our former Carnegie studio, and, unfortunately,
smaller. But we were delighted to be back in the Carnegie environment,
and we continued to maintain this space until the studios closed
forever in 2008. J.H.S. |
The Carnegie Hall studios looked
out toward the park over the roof
of the famous concert hall below, and featured the very best painting
light in all of New York.
