H
ere we present a series of selected portraits, shown in each case as (1) the complete portrait, and (2) the entire portrait enlarged, and (3) an enlarged detail, usually the head and shoulders. This is intended to give the visitor the opportunity to view the brushwork and technique of the actual painting, which is executed at life size. In addition to this section of selected portraits, you are invited to also visit the "Complete Portrait Archive" which lists all 370 of the artist's portraits, with perhaps a third of the total illustrated. For still further study, Mr. Sanden’s published books are available at www.portraitinstitute.com.
